COVID-19 Initiative 

December 2022 - May 2024

Our COVID-19 Outreach and Engagement Program, a partnership with the Metro Department of Health, involved partnering with community based organizations, federally qualified health centers, and agencies for outreach to local communities. 

 

OUR OUTREACH OBJECTIVES

 

  • Recruit, train, and guide Student Health Ambassadors to develop health and wellness projects to reduce the spread of COVID-19

 

  • Develop and distribute a college health survey to ascertain the attitudes and knowledge of undergraduate collegians’ individual health assessment ​

  • Convene “listening sessions” in Tennessee regions to gain viewpoints and attitudes on vaccine hesitancy, to better understand fears and mistrust in communities of color

  • Facilitated COVID-19 Town Hall presentation by students at Fisk University and Tennessee State University discussing their findings on peer attitudes about Covid-19
