COVID-19 Initiative

Our COVID-19 Outreach and Engagement Program, a partnership with the Metro Department of Health, involved partnering with community based organizations, federally qualified health centers, and agencies for outreach to local communities.
OUR OUTREACH OBJECTIVES

Recruit, train, and guide Student Health Ambassadors to develop health and wellness projects to reduce the spread of COVID-19

Develop and distribute a college health survey to ascertain the attitudes and knowledge of undergraduate collegians’ individual health assessment

Convene “listening sessions” in Tennessee regions to gain viewpoints and attitudes on vaccine hesitancy, to better understand fears and mistrust in communities of color

Facilitated COVID-19 Town Hall presentation by students at Fisk University and Tennessee State University discussing their findings on peer attitudes about Covid-19
